organization is affiliated withRotary, a service organization. In 1991 and 1992 Rotary received a Presidential Honor Citation for the work that the St. Bernard Parish Community College Rotaract organization performed for the
community.

Gamma Beta Phi. Along with Rotaract, I sponsored this honor society.

1991 - 1992 I served as State Sponsor for Louisiana. Additional positions held at the college:

1980 - 1988 Employee of St. Bernard Parish School Board.
-Teacher at P.G.T. Beauregard High School. During my years at Beauregard, I co-sponsored the Senior Club for two years, co-sponsored the Senior Beta Club for nine years. For seven of those nine years I worked on the Louisiana State Senior Beta Club Convention Planning Committee. Initiated the ISIS Science Program through the cooperation of the University of New Orleans, and St.Bernard Parish Schools. Additionally, I worked on implementing and writing the sex education program established in St. Bernard Public Schools.

1987 - 1989 Pennco Financial Services -While I was working full-time teaching, I worked part-time for this company. Through this corporation, I learned additional organizational and management skills that are beneficial. I received several leadership awards while affiliated with this organization.

1987 - 1988 Employment with St. Bernard Parish Community College.-In addition to the above part-time, job, I also worked part-time teaching at the college. My job, in addition, teaching, was to increase enrollment in the sciences so that a full-time position would be needed.

August - November C.E.T.A. - Comprehensive Educational

1979 Training Act.
1980 In this job I taught the unemployed and the underprivileged basic English and Math skills.

1979 - 1980 Leave of absence April - August.
During this time period I had my second child, while caring for a new baby and a four-year-old, I began attending graduate school.

1976 - 1979 St. Bernard Parish School
Board Employment

-Teacher at P.G.T. Beauregard High School. During these years at Beauregard I sponsored the Junior club in addition to teaching courses in science.

1975 - 1976 Maternity leave from May 1975 through June 1976. During this year, I had my first child. While on leave,
I worked part-time with the Department of Corrections. I taught in an Adult Education Program at Jackson Barracks.
(June-Aug. 1976) In this position, I taught prisoners basic reading and mathematics skills.

1973 - 1975 St. Bernard Parish School Board Employment

-My first teaching assignment was Millaudon Middle School teaching 7-8th grade science. I also coached 9 - 10 year old volleyball and baseball for Borgnemouth Park Braves.

1971 - 1973 Nicholls Library Part-time Employment

I worked in the library while attending college. The first year the money earned was used for some college expenses. In my senior year, my father died and the money I earned helped my mother meet basic household expenses.

Summer 1971 Fotomat - I secured summer employment with Fotomat to help defray college costs.

1968 - 1973 Pre-kindergarten religion at Our Lady of Lourdes.

I established and taught 4 and 5 year olds religion on a voluntary basis.

Formal and Informal Learning Experience

NOVA university - 1991 – 1994
-Worked towards Doctorate in Community College Administration. 24 hours completed

University of New Orleans - 1989 – 1990 -Completed 12 graduate hours in Biology to satisfy SACS requirements. While attending school, I taught full and time at the college and was establishing a comprehensive science for students to transfer in allied fields.
